The younger brother of a 2025 NBA All-Star was involved in postgame high school basketball skirmish in Wisconsin last week.
Myles Herro, brother of Miami Heat star guard Tyler Herro, started a fight in the handshake line after his Whitnall High School team lost to Waterford in the sectional semifinals last Thursday night.
A senior guard, Herro can be seen shoving Waterford’s Caden Gustafson in videos circulating on social media.
Gustafson was leading the Waterford line and had shaken hands with three Whitnall players when he reached Herro, who immediately shoved him with both hands.
A shocked Gustafson can be seen holding his hands up in disbelief near the scorers’ table as some of his teammates intervene and Herro is restrained.
Numerous pushes and shoves come from both sides before cooler heads finally prevailed.
It’s unclear what led Herro to get physical. While the game did not end the way he’d hoped, the 6-foot-3 star scored his 1,000th-career point earlier in the evening and finished his senior season with averages of 21.5 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game on 49 percent shooting from the field.
Whitnall district communication coordinator Brenda Litza released a statement on the incident, via the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
“The interaction during the post-game handshake does not reflect the values of our basketball program.
The Whitnall players involved have expressed sincere remorse, and we are taking appropriate steps to address the matter while reinforcing our commitment to sportsmanship, respect, and integrity,” the statement read.
