Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry has turned 37 today, and while he is getting up there in age, he remains one of the best players in the NBA.

Curry has been on fire after the All-Star break, too, averaging 27.8 points on 51.1% shooting from the field, and he isn’t showing any signs of slowing down.

All good things must come to an end, though, and Curry isn’t going to be playing forever. There has been a lot of speculation about how much longer he might play, and he was asked that very question during an appearance on 95.7 The Game.

“I don’t know,” Curry said. “I’ve tried to answer that question before, and I’ve said a lot of different things just based on how I feel that day, but I think it’s all kind of measured on the style of, ‘Can I get to that level that I expect from myself?’

“That’s not really attached to points per game or a stats thing,” Curry added. “It’s just a feeling, like, ‘Can I dominate a game? Can I play my style for 30+ minutes?’

And then you kind of reevaluate every year. So I know how my contract’s lined up, and I’d like to outplay that, for sure. How long that goes? I have no idea.”

Curry signed a one-year, $62.5 million extension with the Warriors in August 2024 and is now under contract through the 2026-27 season. The 11-time All-Star plans to play beyond that, so he reckons he has enough in the tank for three more seasons.

Curry later added that he would be open to coming off the bench as well if it meant he could win. He is willing to do whatever it takes to add to the four championships he has won in his career.

For much of this season, it had looked like Curry had no shot of winning his fifth title in 2025, but the Warriors’ fortunes have changed after they acquired Jimmy Butler. They have gone 13-1 in the 14 games Butler has played and are now 38-28 in 2024-25.

You still wouldn’t have the Warriors as one of the favorites for the title, but they almost certainly will be making noise in the playoffs. They are now a very dangerous team led by one of the most dangerous players in NBA history.

Curry and the Warriors will be in action next against the New York Knicks at Chase Center on Saturday at 8:30 PM ET. They go into that clash on a six-game winning streak.
