Earlier this week, TMZ reported that LaVar Ball had his right foot amputated.

Lavar, 57, has been a polarizing figure in the basketball community for several years. It all started with him hyping up Lonzo in 2017.

The patriarch of the Ball family once claimed his oldest son was better than Steph Curry, and this was back when he was a freshman at UCLA.

He even made wild comments about his own basketball career, telling USA Today, “Back in my heyday, I would kill Michael Jordan one-on-one.”

Despite all the outlandish things that LaVar has said in the past, NBA fans were understandably upset when they heard about his foot getting amputated. Although all the details regarding his health haven’t been released yet, a photo of him has surfaced online.

At first, the majority of the Ball family stayed silent about LaVar’s health. On Thursday night, however, LaMelo Ball posted a heartfelt message on Instagram.

LaMelo shared a photo of him embracing LaVar along with this caption: “seen my dawg b4 da game it was only right i love u pops 5L and after.”

This photo was shared after the Charlotte Hornets defeated the Los Angeles Lakers on the road. LaMelo had 27 points, six assists and five rebounds in that game.

For what it’s worth, TMZ reported a few days ago that LaVar is in “great spirits” despite his current situation. LaMelo’s post on Instagram would validate that statement.

LaVar has not yet released a public statement on his procedure, nor is he required too.

With that said, NBA fans around the world will keep LaVar Ball in their thoughts as he continues his recovery process.
