Michael Jordan has been married to his second wife, Yvette Prieto, since 2013.
The legendary NBA star was previously married to Juanita Jordan from 1989-2006. The couple had three children together.
The iconic NBA star, who has gotten into both the basketball and NASCAR worlds since retiring from his playing days, met Yvette Prieto during a night out.
The Cuban model dated Jordan for a couple of years, before a proposal was made. Yvette said yes and the couple got married in 2013, in a stunning ceremony.
Of course, Michael Jordan is a very rich man. He’s a billionaire thanks to his deal with Nike and his various investments. Jordan, now 62, doesn’t plan on getting divorced. However, if he ever does, his wife will receive some big-time payments.

Michael Jordan’s wife, Yvette Prieto, gets $1 million for every year she has been married to the iconic NBA star. However, that number increases in a significant way once the couple hits the 10-year mark. And they’ve done that.
The legendary NBA star and his wife have been married for more than a decade. Now, Yvette Prieto is getting $5 million for every year that they have been married.
A law firm had more details on why the prenuptial agreement was necessary for everyone involved:
For people with tremendous wealth, a prenuptial agreement is a practical necessity. Jordan has a net worth of approximately $650 million, including lucrative stakes in his clothing and shoe line, as well as an ownership interest in the NBA’s Charlotte Bobcats franchise.
With so much at stake in the event of a divorce, calculating marital assets for the purpose of property division could be a tremendously burdensome and lengthy process.
By having the prenuptial agreement in place, both parties know what to expect and can greatly simplify the divorce settlement process if their marriage comes to an end.
But prenuptial agreements aren’t just for the mega-wealthy; they are an effective and practical tool for anyone who wants to take the uncertainty out of divorce.

Michael Jordan is mostly focused on NASCAR right now, but it’d be fun to see him getting back involved in the world of the NBA, too.
