After getting bought out by the Brooklyn Nets last month, Ben Simmons joined the Los Angeles Clippers as they looked to make a push in the second half of the season.

Since joining the team, Simmons is averaging 6.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.4 steals in five games. Additionally, he is shooting 58.3% from the field.

While Simmons has looked solid since joining the Clippers, his availability is becoming an issue once again. The former No. 1 overall pick has missed five games since making his Clippers debut, including four straight as he deals with a knee injury.

Recently, head coach Ty Lue provided an update on Simmons that will have an impact on the team in the short term.

The Clippers are currently 34-29 and own the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference.

Furthermore, they are just 1.5 games behind the Golden State Warriors for the No. 6 seed. As it stands, the Clippers would be in the Play-In Tournament this postseason, but they are hoping to continue their push and secure a playoff spot before the season ends.

However, according to Lue, they will be without Simmons for their upcoming three-game road trip as they look to make this push.

Simmons missing time is not a new concept to Nets fans. The Australian native appeared in just 90 games in parts of three seasons for the team, including just 15 in the entirety of the 2023-24 season.

The Nets will take on Simmons and the Clippers just one more time this season on March 28. If he plays, it will be his first game against his old team since his departure.
