There was plenty of drama on Monday’s episode of MKR, which saw Mark storm off after a fiery exchange with fellow contestants Michael and Rielli.

The trouble started during Lol and Lil’s Instant Restaurant when ‘meat master’ Michael talked up his talent for cooking spare ribs.

Mark was unimpressed with Michael’s boast, reminding the Queenslander that he scored a three for his recent tongue dish, adding he could cook meat better ‘any day’ than his rival.

Things took a nasty twist when Michael’s partner Rielli interjected to make a crack about Mark’s height, telling him, ‘When you can reach the bench, you can say that.’

The ill-timed jibe did not go over well with Mark, who appeared angry after Rielli’s jibe.

‘I don’t need people talking to me like s**t,’ he said, before storming off.

Mark did not hold back during his debrief alongside his cooking partner Tan.

‘Michael and Rielli say things like that because they are insecure that their cooking isn’t good enough, but for Rielli to mock me about my height, I’m not gonna tolerate [that],’ he said.

Rielli was unrepentant about her joke and said, referring to Mark’s reaction: ‘If you are gonna dish it, you better take it as well.

‘If you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen.’

However, she soon backtracked, ‘I should not have stooped that low. Mark soon returned to the table and accepted her apology.

Meanwhile, fans weighed in on the stoush, with many viewers keen to take sides in the feud.

‘Mark was dissing their food. Rielli was dissing him personally. That’s a low blow,’ one fan commented on the MKR Instagram.

‘Um, wow, she took that way too far,’ agreed another on the thread.

Mark’s walkout did not impress some viewers, though, with one fan commenting: ‘Gives it but can’t take it.’

‘Don’t dish out what you can’t receive. Start acting like adults instead of toddlers in the playground,’ agreed another viewer.

Elsewhere in the show, Lil and Lol’s Instant Restaurant impressed the judges.

Scoring 69 out of 100, the cooking partners served up three courses: consisting of pumpkin and ricotta ravioli, pan-seared scallops, and a lamington with a twist as dessert.

It comes after tensions between Mark and Tan and Michael and Rielli got so bad during last Thursday’s episode that host Manu Feildel had to intervene.

The fracas occurred when gatecrashers hosted their first Instant Restaurant, Charmed.

Michael objected to the fact that Tan’s family owns two restaurants despite the fact that Tan is not a chef in either, after the pair dished up an impressive meal of Asian cuisine.

Obviously unimpressed with Michael’s line of questioning, Manu jumped in, asking him why he asked it in the first place.

With his patience tested, Manu then shut down Michael’s protests.

Michael was unquestionably in the minority. Other home cooks labelled his protests as ‘ridiculous’, while Tan called him ‘out of line’.

Even Michael’s partner Rielli agreed with the table, telling him: ‘I think the timing couldn’t have been worse. It was disrespectful to Mark and Tan and disrespectful to the judges.
