We were treated to a memorable game last night between the Montreal Canadiens and the Chicago Blackhawks, marking Ivan Demidov’s NHL debut.

There was, of course, the warm-up, the absolutely incredible reception from the Bell Centre crowd, and the first period.

A first period in which Ivan Demidov recorded his first career NHL point-and his first goal.

There was also, of course, the shootout controversy.

The excitement was so intense that the National Hockey League actually had to cancel the commercial break:

And then there was Demidov’s reaction, caught on the jumbotron, which got people talking.

Ivan Demidov couldn’t believe the energy from the Bell Centre crowd and let slip a curse we all love

See for yourselves.

“Cameras focused on Ivan Demidov, the crowd goes wild after the announcement of his assist.”- Eric Engels

And if you read his lips, it’s pretty easy to tell what he said.

Check out the footage:

What a moment for the young player! I think he’s really starting to realize what kind of hockey city he’s landed in.

Montreal loves Demidov-and clearly, Demidov seems to love Montreal right back.
