Rihanna and A$AP Rocky already have two children together, but if recent reports are to be believed, the couple has a unique name in mind for their next baby.
Following A$AP Rocky’s recent courtroom victory, the rapper and the pop icon allegedly shared a surprising decision with their attorney,
Joe Tacopina—declaring they plan to name their next child after him.
A Shocking Name Revelation
In an interview with Extra, Tacopina revealed that after Rocky was found not guilty of two felony assault charges,
the couple expressed their gratitude to him in a very unexpected way.
“They grabbed me and they said, ‘Listen, our next baby—A$AP Joe,’” Tacopina recalled. He laughed at the suggestion but responded by telling them, “I’m gonna hold you to that!”
While it’s unclear whether Rihanna and Rocky were joking or serious about the potential baby name, Tacopina appeared deeply moved by their appreciation.
A$AP Rocky’s Emotional Reaction to the Verdict
The rapper, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, had been facing serious legal consequences stemming from a 2021 incident involving his former friend, A$AP Relli. The allegations led to charges of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and had he been convicted, he could have been sentenced to up to 24 years in prison.
When the jury delivered the not-guilty verdict on both counts, Rocky’s emotions got the best of him. According to Tacopina, the rapper nearly collapsed, grabbing onto his legal team for support before turning toward Rihanna and his family, who were seated in the courtroom’s front row.
Tacopina admitted he was momentarily concerned about Rocky’s reaction, especially since the rapper started celebrating after just the first not-guilty verdict was read.
“I told my partner, ‘Get him back here, we have another count,’” he recalled. “I was thinking, ‘My God, if the second count doesn’t go well, this is gonna be embarrassing.’”
Fortunately for Rocky, the second count also ended in his favor. Tacopina later shared that the rapper had been overwhelmed with anxiety leading up to the verdict, as he had been unsure whether he would be going home to his family or facing a lengthy prison sentence.
A$AP Rocky’s Gratitude Toward His Lawyer
After securing his freedom, Rocky made sure to express his heartfelt gratitude to Tacopina. The lawyer recalled the moment the rapper embraced him and shared his appreciation.
“He grabbed me and he said, ‘Joe, I want you to know, I know how hard you fought here. I know everything you’ve done, and I just appreciate you so much,’” Tacopina recounted.
Rocky also reportedly told Tacopina that he considers him family, further solidifying the strong bond they built over the course of the trial.
Rihanna and Rocky’s Growing Family
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are already proud parents to two young boys—RZA, born in 2022, and Riot, born in 2023. While the couple has not publicly confirmed any plans for a third child, their playful remark about naming their next baby “A$AP Joe” has certainly captured fans’ attention.
Though it remains to be seen whether the name will actually make it onto a birth certificate, one thing is clear—Rocky and Rihanna are immensely grateful for the legal victory that has kept their family together
What’s Next for Rihanna and A$AP Rocky?
With the trial now behind them, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky can focus on their family and respective careers. Rihanna, who has taken a step back from music in recent years to focus on her Fenty empire and motherhood, has teased new music on multiple occasions. Meanwhile, Rocky continues to work on his music career and has been spotted in the studio working on new projects.
While fans eagerly await more updates from the couple, the idea of baby “A$AP Joe” has certainly become an amusing topic of discussion. Whether or not they follow through with their bold name choice, one thing is certain—Rocky and Rihanna’s bond is stronger than ever after this high-profile legal battle.
