Over one month after this year’s season of Married At First Sight wrapped up on TV, the cast are finally regaining access to their Instagram accounts. For the past few years, Channel 9’s social media team has managed the brides and grooms’ online presence from when the season premieres in Australia until one week after it ends in the UK.

While Dave Thomas Hand, Veronica Cloherty and Clint Rice mysteriously managed to log back into their accounts last month, a majority of participants will be logging into their accounts for the first time on Monday. However, Yahoo Lifestyle can reveal there are a few rules they each must abide by as they start posting to their newfound followers.

Official social media guidelines shared with us by an anonymous participant reveal that cast members are encouraged not to mention their return to social media, as Channel 9 has been sharing posts on their behalf for the past few months.

“Since all content and captions published to your account during the season were selected and written by you, we advise you to avoid announcing your ‘return’ to social or mentioning the publishing process in order to maintain the authenticity between you and your followers,” the document reads.

What participants aren’t allowed to post about

Yahoo Lifestyle can reveal that participants have also been told not to do any sponsored posts or brand deals on Instagram, and avoid talking about production or what it was like behind the scenes.

“You can use your social media accounts for personal content publishing, noting this personal content needs to adhere to your exclusivity timings and provisions (non-commercial purposes only),” the document continues.

It’s unlikely that the brides and grooms will follow these rules, as many have already used second Instagram accounts during the season to dissect the show and call out their ‘edit’.

Jacqui Burfoot, Ryan Donnelly, Clint Rice, Morena Farina, and Tony Mojanovski all used their back-up or business accounts to speak out about the series, while Adrian Araouzou, Eliot Donovan and Awhina Rutene have been posting rogue videos on TikTok.

Meanwhile, Rhi Disljenkovic and Carina Mirabile have been using their business accounts to collaborate with makeup artists on Instagram, and Dave Thomas Hand and Billy Belcher launched a joint account back in February.

Now that this year’s season of MAFS has wrapped up in both Australia and the UK, here are the top 10 most followed participants from the 2025 cast:

    Jamie Marinos (291,000)
    Rhi Disljenkovic (261,000)
    Awhina Rutene (204,000)
    Dave Thomas Hand (196,000)
    Jeff Gobbels (156,000)
    Carina Mirabile (153,000)
    Billy Belcher (145,000
    Eliot Donovan (111,000)
Jacqui Burfoot (101,000) – on her business account
    Katie Johnston (100,000)

Yahoo Lifestyle understands that the cast members will regain access to their Instagram accounts at various points throughout the day on Monday, as they had to select time slots with Channel 9.

Time will tell which participant is the first to do a brand deal, post a Q&A on their Instagram Story, or launch an OnlyFans account!
