The general manager of the Montreal Canadiens, Kent Hughes, has finally made two smaller moves on this trade deadline day.

We mentioned earlier this week that this was a strong possibility, well, it has now been confirmed.

Kent Hughes completes paper transactions involving Owen Beck and Jakub Dobes

See the official statement from the Canadiens.

“The Canadiens have completed paper transactions with Owen Beck, who was with the team on an emergency recall, and Jakub Dobes, so that they are eligible to be reassigned to the Laval Rocket.”

This means that Beck and Dobes will be eligible to join the Laval Rocket for their potential playoff run, if needed and depending on what happens in Montreal, of course.

At 23 years old, standing 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighing 215 pounds, Dobes has a record of 6-2-1 this season, with a goals-against average of 2.63 and a save percentage of .909.

As for Owen Beck, the 21-year-old forward has recorded one point in 11 games this season with the Canadiens, in addition to 32 points in 47 games with the Laval Rocket.

The announcement was made during Kent Hughes’ press conference, showing that the GM is committed to helping both the farm team and Pascal Vincent’s squad whenever possible.

More details to come.
