The goal scored by Seattle Kraken defenseman Brandon Montour continues to generate numerous reactions.

It sparked reactions from Montreal Canadiens fans, the media, and now we know it also triggered a response from the players!

The footage of the sequence and the details can be found in the following article:

And we’ve talked about it a lot, but in short, we wanted to add one more thing: the reaction of the player who got fooled on that goal, Lane Hutson.

Lane Hutson had a lot to say about Brandon Montour’s overtime goal for the Seattle Kraken

In the sequence, Seattle Kraken defenseman Brandon Montour clearly crosses the center line while the referee still has the puck in his hand for the faceoff.

This head start, combined with the fact that he took off before the play was initiated, allowed him to completely outrun Hutson and score the game-winning goal.

According to NHL rules, this maneuver is absolutely forbidden.

After the game, Hutson was clearly not in a good mood.

“Brandon Montour clearly cheated yesterday on the game-winning goal. No wonder Lane Hutson was furious after the goal, and he was still steaming in the locker room after the game.”

– Anthony Marcotte

Lane Hutson, who is usually more reserved, got angry for a very rare time during the post-game press conference:

“Yes, he was already moving forward before the puck was dropped, so I was already out of the race because he had a head start on me.

Obviously, I have to be ready, but it was a good play on his part, I guess.”

– Lane Hutson, in a tone that spoke volumes.

We love to see this kind of fire from Hutson!
