Rolfe, aged 47, was found dead at home in Camden on the outskirts of Sydney on Tuesday morning.

The cattle farmer, who also went by the name Lachlan McAleer, was on the first series of MAFS when he was paired with Clare Tamas. They split a year after filming wrapped.

The following year Rolfe starred on Farmer Wants a Wife, but was also unsuccessful in maintaining a long-term relationship with girlfriend Belinda Reid.

It emerged that the couple had broken up by the time the series final had aired, with Lachlan blaming distance.

“We were trying back and forth and spoke on the phone all the time, but the distance makes it really hard,” he told TV Week.

NSW Police have urged anyone with information to come forward.

Police said emergency services were called to a home on Old Razorback Road, Razorback, where they found a man “unresponsive”.

“Ambulance paramedics commenced CPR but they were unable to revive him,” they said.

“Investigations are continuing into the circumstances.”

Another former MAFS contestant Ryan Donnelly reacted to the shocking news on social media.

‘Wow that’s tragic. I was born in Camden, very sad to lose a local so young RIP,” he wrote on Instagram.

After two unsuccessful TV romances, Rolfe was accused by his then-girlfriend of assault in 2017 and was found guilty. He launched a successful appeal against the conviction.

“Being a man of principle, I chose to clear my name,” he said at the time.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact Camden police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
